Emily thinks too hard about writing things. She likes watching weather patterns, chewing ice cream and anyone who can do magic tricks or hand stands.

Nick does the internet into the wee hours of the morning. He obsesses over Belgian beers and organic jeans, and only listens to audiobooks.

Four score and several months ago, we decided we would leave our jobs, friends, and all our earthly possessions to finish what Columbus started, and rediscover America (minus the pillaging and spreading smallpox).

In mid-August, we will leave our home of 3 years in Jersey City, NJ, and begin our journey throughout the continental United States, lower Canada, and maybe Mexico. We’ll be doing a counter-clockwise loop, devouring seafood in the Northeast up to Canada, milking cows through the Midwest, avoiding the children of the corn in Northern Plains, jumping in puddles in the Northwest, soaking up the sun in the Governator’s state, dodging tumble weeds in the Southwest, getting lassoed in Texas, and wrestling gators in the Southeast. Then, it’s back to Jersey to pick up Computer and a few boxes, and on to the warmest, most liberal place we can find.
